Joshua Davis Benefit Concert on the Patio! (plus strega antipasti buffet!)

We are thrilled to announce this very special UPDON Fundraiser Concert with Joshua Davis and evening at Strega Nonna! We invite you to join us!

Strega Nonna will open up our doors at 6:00pm with an antipasti buffet setup for guests to enjoy before finding a spot on the patio for the concert. Show will Start at 7pm and will be held outdoors on our patio (weather permitting). We will have a dessert buffet set up following the show. Drinks will be available for purchase at the Bar.

While known for his standout performance on “The Voice,” Michigan-based Davis has honed an impressive range of skills – songwriter, bandleader, guitarist, and vocalist among them – in the most honest possible fashion over the last 20 years. Night after night, song after song, show after show Davis simply delivers every performance as though his life depends on it. Investing himself in the American musical diaspora, he has explored the common thread connecting folk, blues, jazz, ragtime, and country forms – discovering his personal perspective as a composer in the process.

An upbringing residing in the city of Detroit while spending summers on the southern tip of Lake Superior in Marquette brings into view the backdrop of Davis’ latest works. The Way Back Home follows a series of singular recordings (Fool Rooster, Magnolia Belles, A Miracle of Birds) by the prolific songwriter. His rough-n-tumble grit mixes with an undeniable Midwesterner’s charm for a soaring vocal performance on The Way Back Home. With roots in the U.P. where he spent time with his now late father, Davis comes home once again to help his U.P. neighbors.
